The First Week

We have now completed a full week with Izzy and Ethan. We have had so much fun, it was great having the four of us together all week with visits from special friends. We have learned a lot, and realized we have more to learn. The kids have done great, sleeping through the night, and now all the way till 7 a.m. Yea!!!! There are definitely things we need to work on, but overall they are adjusting very well. They have missed out on a lot of experiences most children their ages will have, but we are working to make up for it.

The first couple of times you meet the kids they will be very quiet. They are very unsure of new places and people as you can well imagine. Give them a little bit of time and you will see their personalities. Izzy especially has really bonded with a few people already and asks to see them or call them on the phone.

They both are very talkative when they are comfortable, E has shocked us this week with some of the words we had no idea he could say, he just has to want to. Admittedly, he doesn't want to very often, but I was glad to hear he can. Izzy talks constantly, but most of the time it is so soft you can't understand her, at home she is quite loud, and loves to squeal, especially when her Daddy is around.

We are sad Spencer has to go back to work next week, but such is life. We will be sure that we have plenty of fun left for him when he gets home.
